A new hearing centre with a fully-qualified clinical audiologist has opened at a Saltcoats opticians.

Friday, April 13 marked the official opening of the centre within Specsavers on Dockhead Street following the store’s six-figure redevelopment earlier this year.

Representatives from Specsavers were on hand to share information and hand out goodie bags to visitors to mark the launch. Locals were also able to spot ‘the big ear’ in Saltcoats and enjoy a piper performing in store.

Specsavers Saltcoats store director, Jennie Ferdinand, said: “It is incredibly exciting to expand our offering to take care of locals’ ears as well as eyes.

“Customers who visit us ican now expect a quality, convenient and thorough hearing assessment, hearing aids and aftercare service within our hearing centre. We are also delighted to welcome our new clinical audiologist, Teresa Garden, to the business.”

With its sights set on delivering a world-class service right in the heart of the community, the store’s refurbishment created new jobs and revolutionised the layout, as well as creating the dedicated hearing centre.

The expansion also saw an extra test room added, fully equipped with the latest clinical equipment for eye examinations and soundproof technology for audiology services.

As well as offering free hearing tests, its dedicated hearing aid professionals can tell customers everything they need to know about the incredible digital hearing aids available.
