GENERATIONS in Kilwinning came together this Easter and got creative.

Kind-hearted youngsters got together to decorate plant pots for an elderly or vulnerable member of the community.

Over the two week break 60 kids took part in the Artastic Easter Art Camp which saw them gift their decorative plant pots to a Kilwinning resident of their choice during a special end-of-week tea party.

Organiser and Artastic owner Angela McAlpine said the camp was a huge success and everyone took something from it.

She said: “It was such a great two weeks. The kids really enjoyed it but honestly they all said their favourite part was gifting the plant pots to their chosen person. They got so much out of that and the elderly residents did too. It was great to see.”

Angela was able to run the Easter camp after securing £1,000 from the Young Scot Participatory Budget.

She said: “We came third out of all the community groups who applied and it was voted for by people in the community so I decided to run this camp to give something back to the community.”
