DOGS are not banned from any beaches in North Ayrshire, it has been confirmed.

National reports hinted that people could face fines for walking their dogs on beaches across the country but The Beach Guide confirms that no beaches in the local area bans dogs and North Ayrshire Council have now confirmed that there are no restrictions at all but asked locals to be responsible.

On their website, The Beach Guide tells of nine beaches across the Strathclyde region where dogs can run freely but a further 32 where there are possible restrictions between May and September but the council confirmed that no restrictions are in place.

The Scottish Outdoor Access Code lists the responsible behaviour of the public. This includes for walking dogs near farms, crops, birds and in public places.
