Beith Guides meet a guide dog
ON Friday, April 27, 2nd Beith Guides welcomed guest volunteer speaker and guide dog user Robert Blackwood.
He was accompanied by his volunteer driver Pamela and guide dog Jasper.
The night was hosted by Girl Guide Beth Williams as part of her continued work to gain her Baden Powell challenge badge.
Robert told the Guides about the history of guide dogs. They took part in activities which increased their knowledge of what it was like to live with a visual impairment on a daily basis.
At the end of the evening Robert was presented with a cheque for £50 and in September the Guides will take part in a sponsored walk to raise more cash.
