A BEITH Bakery has been crowned as the best Craft Bakery in the country.
The ever-popular Irvine’s of Beith picked up a number
of awards at the Scottish Baker of the Year awards recently in Glasgow, including the Craft Baker of the Year title.
The Garnock Valley specialists also won the following:
* A Special Gold Award for their potato scone
* In the Individual Cake under 80p category, Irvines won Best in Borders and Lowlands Region for its French fancy
It also won a Regional Gold and National Silver for its toffee tart
This was a category sponsored by Südzucker UK
* In the Savoury category, Irvines won Regional Bronze in the Borders and Lowlands for their chicken and black pudding pie, a category sponsored by Bakels.
* In the Biscuit Category, Irvines won the Regional Bronze for their toffee empire biscuit, a category sponsored by Eurowire Containers.
* In the Bread category, Irvines took National and Regional Gold for their tiger bread, this category sponsored by Puratos
* And in the scone category, Irvines also won Regional Silver for their chocolate and orange scone and Regional Bronze for their cinnamon and sultana scone, this final category was sponsored by Fleming Howden.
