THIS week Shadow Transport Minister and West Scotland MSP, Jamie Greene, revealed plans for a £100 million funding to fix Scotland’s roads.
In North Ayrshire, 30 per cent of A-roads are in the red/amber zone meaning they need urgent repairs and 37 per cent of B-roads need to have some work done.
This causes enormous amounts of damage to not only cars but also can potentially endanger cyclists and motorcyclists. A recent social media campaign by the West Scotland MSP experienced 50,000 interactions in the area, highlighting the extent of the issue in North Ayrshire.
He said: “If left unaddressed the problem will only worsen. This is why we’ve announced the extra £100m to help repair the state of the roads.”
