P2 children from Stanley Primary ‘got married’ recently in Ardrossan’s EU Church.

Grace MacSween and Jackson Campbell ‘tied the knot’ as part of P2’s class topic learning about Christian weddings.

Jackson’s best man was Shay McMahon, who prepared and delivered his own speech; while Grace’s bridesmaids were Carmen Rose Guthrie-Valenti, Sophie Gemmell and Evie Woods.

Parents were invited to the ceremony, which was conducted by retired EU Church minister Jim Smith.

There was also a bible reading from Luke Murphy and poetry from Chloe Morton and Derry Howie. At  the reception, the cake was cut and the newlyweds enjoyed their first dance.

P2 teacher Lauren Langan said: “They absolutely loved it. The feedback from the children and the parents was really positive. It was a lovely day.”

Stanley Primary wishes to thank The Kandy Bar for donating the wedding cake.
