Man gets away after 30 minute police chase in Saltcoats
A MAN managed to evade capture after a police chase in Saltcoats on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occured when a male known to police made a getaway from the Town Centre area in a vehicle around 2.30pm.
A significant police response, including the police helicopter, then ensued.
The vehicle was abandoned at the back of Sandylands Caravan Park in the town and the man set off on foot and managed to get away from the officers in pursuit.
The chase lasted around 30 minutes and the man is yet to be traced by the police in the Three Towns.
The individual is not thought to be violent or pose any threat to the public.
