Garnock Valley Men’s Shed needs your votes to receive a national grant so it can convert an old building into a secure sanctuary for members.

The group, which is based in the old maintenance depot in Kilbirnie, is in the running for a Jewson’s Building Better Communities grant of up to £50,000.

A Men’s Shed is a place where men can relax over a cuppa, play cards, meet friends or get creative. Sheds have also been praised for the positive impacts they have on men’s wellbeing.

If successful in obtaining the Jewson grant, the Garnock Valley group will be able to get their premises up to a standard that is safe and secure for all members.

The mammoth project at the building in Kilbirnie will include the installation of heating, electrics and toilets, wheelchair access, an IT room to assist the members with completing online applications, securing the premises, and more.
