A charity’s annual It’s A Knockout competition takes place this weekend (Saturday, June 23).

The event, in support of Marion’s Still Smiling, will be held at the Ardrossan Accies ground from 1pm.

The fun-filled afternoon, the charity’s fourth of its kind, will see teams compete in various challenges.

This year’s event will have a Kidz Zone, where a £10 wristband will allow the children to play on the inflatables all day.

Marion’s Still Smiling was set up following the death of Saltcoats woman Marion Callaghan in 2014 to raise funds to give terminally ill cancer patients the opportunity to go on short holidays/mini breaks.

Maureen Ritchie from the charity said: “Marion’s Still Smiling is proud to host the fourth annual It’s A Knockout.

“Crosshouse Hospital identifies patients that could benefit from breaks and they have the option of Auchrannie Spa Hotel in Arran, Piper Dam Dundee or the Seamill Hydro, whilst the children have been to Lego Land, Butlins Skegness and Haggerston Castle.

“We could not have done it without the amazing support from local people who have supported us over the past three years and we thank everyone involved.”
