Rowan Shepherd, winner of St Anthony's Primary Tommy Reid Memorial Shield
The winner of this year’s Tommy Reid Memorial Shield at St Anthony’s Primary School was Rowan Shepherd.
The shield is awarded annually in memory of Tommy Reid to a P7 pupil who demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship and kindness to others. Tommy was a great friend to the school for many years until his death in 1996 and the shield has been presented every year since then, initially by his wife Patsy, until her death in 2017.
Rowan was presented with the shield by Tommy’s daughters – Margaret, Patricia and Rosemary, the former of whom is a retired teacher from St Anthony’s.
