NHS Ayrshire and Arran has developed woodland area near Ayrshire Central Hospital to provide patients, staff and visitors with an accessible outdoor space.
The newly designed path is part funded by Woodlands In and Around Towns (Forestry Commission Scotland) and NHS Ayrshire and Arran’s Charity Fund (Endowments).
It can be used for walking, taking in nature, or spending time relaxing or recuperating in peaceful surroundings.
It has regular rest points, is wheelchair accessible and suitable for everyone.
With a mixture of mature and young trees and enrichment planting, the walk will become home to a diverse range of tree species over time, increasing biodiversity and overall wildlife in the woods.
