SUNSEEKERS in Saltcoats got a shock last week when they discovered a snake near to the harbour.
Shortly before 12pm on Wednesday, June 27, police were called after reports of a snake near to the car park at The Braes.
Officers attended and were met with a red and white corn snake (pictured) and managed to capture it before it was transferred to Hessilhead Wildlife Centre.
Gay Christie from Hessilhead told the Herald that the snake is in good condition but they hadn’t been contacted by any possible owners of the snake and said that it would be rehomed if the owners weren’t traced.
If you know the owners, you can contact Hessilhead on 01505 502415.
