On Tuesday, June 26, in blazing sunshine, Beith Primary’s P2S, P2W and C2/1W held a Spanish Fiesta Day.

The children have been learning Spanish and about Spanish festivals.

They made colourful masks and big heads to wear for their playground parade and fun day and played percussion instruments as they proudly marched along.

The children also took part in many activities during the Beith Fiesta which enhanced their knowledge of Spanish numbers, colour and shapes.

They also tasted Spanish food and made fans to cool down under the blazing Beith sunshine!

Teachers in North Ayrshire have been attending Spanish courses in order to deliver Spanish lessons in school Mrs Stead, Mrs Kennedy and McMcGoldrick of Beith PS will be attending a week-long Spanish course in Malaga this summer to enhance their knowledge of the language and culture and help them deliver even better Spanish sessions to local children in Beith.
