SALTCOATS will this weekend see the crowning of the 2018 Sea Queen with a spectacular weekend of events planned for all of the family.

Eleven-year-old Afton Ceelen will be crowned on Saturday afternoon in the town’s Melbourne Park and the Mayfield PS pupil will be ably assisted by Ciaran Thomson, 12, of St Anthony’s Primary.

There is something for everyone on both Saturday and Sunday with the annual parade.

It will leave the Argyle Community Centre at 10.30am on Saturday morning for arrival at Melbourne Park for the crowning of the queen around 12pm.

In Melbourne Park there will a bouncy castle, children’s rides and inflatable slides on both the Saturday and the The Sea Queen and her royal party in Saltcoats.

During the day on Saturday there will also be entertainment from Uncle Billy, puppet entertainment, Owl Magic and Kirsty’s Critters.

And on Sunday, Scotland Rocks will be bringing the music of the best acts the country has to offer, including Deacon Blue, Paolo Nutini, The Proclaimers and Wet Wet Wet, to Saltcoats from around 1pm.

There will also be a vintage car show and the Three Towns Scooter Club will be there on the Sunday too.
