A petition has been launched to make a Kilbirnie dad the new CEO of Glasgow Pride, following criticism over the 2018 event’s organisation.
Last weekend’s Pride event in Kelvingrove Park was criticised on social media after revellers were denied access despite having previously bought a ticket.
But James Smith, CEO of Hillhead Pets Corner, has since been recommended to take over the annual event.
‘James Smith for new CEO of Glasgow Pride’ was set up this week by Jaymee-leigh Mcaliece.
James said: “When I first saw this petition I thought it was amazing that people thought of me.
"As I’m the president of The Icon Awards, Scotland’s largest LGBT+ awards ceremony, I’m very busy right now and the Pride board know where I am.”
