Ardrossan Music Experience’s latest success saw 80s Scottish band Hipsway perform to a sell-out crowd.

Fans of the vintage pop band came from all over the UK for last weekend’s gig at Ardrossan Civic Centre.

Peter McNamara from AME described the night as “amazing” and said that he was hoping to book renowned British rockers Squeeze for a future gig.

He said: “It was an amazing success and Hipsway were great. We’re looking forward to doing more of the same.

“It was awesome; jam-packed. We had people come from all over the country staying in Ardrossan. One guy drove up from Rotherham just to come to the gig, another came up from London.

“We had people staying at B&Bs and eating in Ardrossan, so it’s been great for the local economy.

“We’re in discussions with having Squeeze , so watch this space. That’s the ambition we have for Ardrossan, to try and get big names. It’s also our ambition to have the young local bands as well who are very talented. We would say to people to keep checking our website for any updates.

“For now, Ardrossan Music Experience is continuing with the song writing sessions and Silver Sundays.”
