A 45-year-old woman who denied taking a phone into jail has been fined £250.
Pauline Mann brought a personal communication device – namely a mobile phone, which is a prohibited article – into Kilmarnock Prison on December 31 without reasonable excuse.
Mann, of Miller Road in Saltcoats, pled not guilty to one charge at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court, but was found guilty after trial.
