Kilwinning could be set to get a brand new play park if proposals gain enough support.

Kilwinning Community Events and Kilwinning Locality Partnership are bringing forward proposals to occupy the former tennis courts in McGavin Park on Dalry Road.

Kilwinning Community Events say they are seeking feedback from residents by August 15 via their Facebook Page.

The proposals are to install;

A Leg Push, Walker & Slalom (FZ30)

1 x Sit Up and Stretch Bars (FZ38)

1 x Push Up Bar, Pull Down Bar & Dip Bar (FZ32)

1 x Arm Trainer (FZ12)

1 x Cycle Trainer (FZ11)

1 x 25m Aerial Runway with Launch Platform

2 x York Bench (SFB3)

2 x Cambridge Picnic table (SFB6)

2 x Trampoline Circus 20.02.112

There will also be a consultation event stall at the annual Picnic in the Park on August 9 and a display at Kilwinning library.

Kilwinning councillor Donald Reid, chair of the Environmental Group and member of Kilwinning Locality Partnership NAC, said: “These proposals are being brought forward to conclude a request for more activities for families and young people.

“This, it is hoped, will also bring new interest to McGavin Park.

“The first talk through for the former tennis courts site brought forward ideas of a zip slide, trampolines and picnic benches to the original outdoor gym equipment proposed.

“If these proposals get favour during the consultation then Kilwinning Community Events group will move forward and look for funding for this community play area.”
