A man who assaulted and spat at policemen at Crosshouse Hospital has been given unpaid work and an electronic tag.
Liam William Hay assaulted the constables on April 15 of this year.
The 28-year-old kicked one of the officers on the leg and repeatedly struck him with his head and repeatedly attempted to strike the other constable, again with his head.
Hay, of Stevenston’s Wallace Avenue, also behaved in a threatening or abusive manner at the hospital. He shouted, swore, spat at the police officers and issued threats.
Hay appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week for sentencing, having previously pled guilty to three charges.
He was ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work within three months and placed on a Restriction of Liberty Order for 12 weeks.
