BEITH Bowling Club gents took on the lady members for the annual Cunninghame Cup recently.
A large number attended to make this a great day. President Libby Calderwood and President Warnock Longridge both gave a rallying speech to their teams before battle commenced.
To even up the teams, two men volunteered to play for the Ladies. After the air cleared and the dust settled, the scores were counted, the men winning by two shots, 66 to 64.
A recount was called by P.P. Anne McCorquadale and although the Ladies had won more games the men had more shots and the result remained.
Thanks to Anne McCorquadale for Sandwiches etc and the Ladies for the raffle.
Vice President Derek Logue gave the vote of thanks and said he was already looking forward to next year. Thanks to everyone who turned up.
