THREE dedicated council staff have been shortlisted for an Excellence Award after being nominated by the public.

Members of the public were asked to nominate an outstanding Council employee for the North Ayrshire Achieves Customer Excellence Award.

Having received more than 50 nominations, the judging panel had a very difficult job whittling the entries down to three finalists.

Those three finalists are:

* Lisa Owen, Clerk to the Ayrshire Area Support Team. Lisa supports more than 200 volunteers within the Children’s Hearings system across Ayrshire and is herself a former volunteer Children’s Panel Member.

* Angela Pirie, Area Inclusion Officer, Auchenharvie Academy - Angela acts as a link between home and school and helps to deliver evidence-based interventions to build healthy relationships and support children and young people at time of transition.

* Susan Duncan, Social Worker - Susan works with people who use social services to assess and respond to their care requirements ensuring that they receive the support they need.

Chief Executive Elma Murray said: “It’s always heartening to hear from our local communities about some of the amazing work delivered by our staff which would otherwise go unnoticed and should rightly be recognised.”

The winner will be announced at the North Ayrshire Achieves awards event on November 1.
