A Beith teen has been selected to represent Great Britain at the British Pony Club Mounted Games 2018.
Heather Wyllie, who goes to Garnock Community Campus, was one of five riders chosen to be part of Team GB at the event.
The 16-year-old is set to tour Britain with her team, alongside competitors from Australia, Canada and America, culminating in an international competition at the Pony Club Championships in Cheshire on August 18.
Heather’s mum May Wyllie said: “She is delighted to have been chosen for the British Team.
“This will be a fantastic, once in a lifetime experience for Heather and we wish her all the very best of luck.”
Heather has been a member of Eglinton Hunt Pony Club for 10 years. She has represented the club with her team at the Horse of The Year Show for the last three years running, with her team being placed Reserve Champions in 2017.
The S5 pupil also represented her country as part of the Scottish Mounted Games Team at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in 2016 and 2017.
Again, her team were placed Reserve Champions last year.
