FIVE members of the community trained with top Scottish chefs as part of a new cookery course in Stevenston.
Raise Your Voice with Ardeer, in partnership with Centrestage, has been running Eat and Train (EaT), a 12-week course which saw participants gain two recognised cookery certificates.
Liz Smith, Liz Winters, Kyran Harvie, Dionne Clark and Darren Donald all achieved Introduction to Cookery and Level 2 Health and Hygiene.
The five regularly attend the Centrestage Family Night at Ardeer Neighbourhood Centre.
Allison McGookin, media secretary at Raise your Voice Ardeer, said: “The course gave them the chance to train with top Scottish chefs and meet new people while learning to cook delicious, nutritional food for their family.
“On the final night of the course, trainees’ guests are able to watch how their culinary skills have developed and enjoy a three-course dinner cooked by the trainees before the trainees are presented with their certificates.
“Another four courses will be organised in North Ayrshire over the coming months.”
