THE Ardrossan Christmas Lights Celebrations may be in jeopardy this year - unless locals rally to help keep the town lit up.

A hard-working band of volunteers who are involved in the Ardrossan Christmas Decorations Committee (ACDC) are to stand down and they hope that others can step in and give the lights a new lease of life.

A spokesperson for the committee explained: "Many of the current committee are standing down due to personal commitments and it is urgent that members of the public come along to hear about what the group has achieved over the past 10 years and how best to continue supplying a Festive light display and Santa Parade within the Town.

"The Festive event has always been a great success and the new Committee would be starting off with money in the pot and the support of the retiring Committee to help the new members take on this year’s event.

"We hope to see many of you there and keep Ardrossan Town lit up this Christmas."

Their AGM will take place this Wednesday, August 22 at 7pm in Ardrossan Youth Centre, Stanley Road, Ardrossan.
