TWO people were injured when a sign from a shop fell on them earlier today (Thursday) in Saltcoats.
Police were called to the town's Hamilton Street earlier this afternoon after a man and a woman were struck by an overhanging sign from a shop.
The area was cordoned off and the man, aged 59, and the woman, aged 29, were taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment to their injuries, which at this stage are not thought to be life threatening.
Chief Inspector Brian Shaw said: "It appears that there is potentially another sign loose and we have cordoned off the area to ensure the safety of the pedestrians who use the street."
