A LARGE emergency response was sparked last night in West Kilbride due to a 'chemical smell' coming from a house.
Police, Fire Service and Ambulance response teams were called to the town's Portencross Road around 6pm last night (Thursday) after reports of a smell from a property.
It is understood that nobody was taken to hospital as a result of the incident although emergency services were in the area for a number of hours.
Police confirmed that they responded to a call in regards to a chemical smell and attended alongside fire and ambulance colleagues.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 1805 hours on Thursday August 16 to attend an incident on Portencross Road in West Kilbride.
“We dispatched our special operations team, one ambulance and a manager to the scene.”
