A beach clean with an artistic twist is taking place on the Three Towns shoreline this weekend.
Ish Lennox has organised the ‘clean and create’ event for her 50th birthday.
The event will see rubbish collected from the beach and transformed into a striking piece of art.
Ish, who lives in London but is originally from Saltcoats, is collaborating with artist Ally Ashworth on the project.
The pair have been working closely with North Ayrshire Council and the Marine Conservation Society.
Ish told the Herald: “I grew up in Saltcoats and I’m going to be celebrating my 50th birthday with a beach clean. I loved the beach I grew up on.
“We’re meeting at Galloway Burn. The people will be sent off with two rubbish bags, one with dirty rubbish stuff that can’t be used. The other will be stuff that can be potentially used in an art installation.”
The litter pick will meet at Galloway Burn, Saltcoats, at 10am on Saturday, August 18.
