A group of tribal warriors are coming to Ardrossan for a spectacular performance next month.

The Osiligi Maasai Warriors from southern Kenya are set to appear at Whitlees Community Centre on Friday, September 7.

The group have toured the UK with great success in recent years.

Their celebrated performance – authentic Maasai song, dance and drama as well as their famed jumping – is both entertaining and informative and involves audience participation plus a question and answer session on the lives of the Maasai.

In recent years, the warriors have also worked in conjunction with a small charity, Osiligi Charity Projects.

This has led to the transformation of their local community with new water stations, a new orphanage, a new church/community centre and – most impressively – a new, state-of-the-art primary school with more than 200 sponsored pupils and a medical centre.

Tour organiser, Jim Wilkie, said: “The group has visited Ayrshire previously, but this will be their first time in Ardrossan. The show is great family entertainment and people can expect something really different.”

Local organiser, Jennifer Allan, added: “I saw the group once before and local people are in for a real treat.”

The 2018 tour is planned to cover virtually the whole of the UK, visiting schools, theatres, village halls and churches. The event starts at 7pm. Tickets are £10/£4 per child. Contact jen.allan.hotmail.co.uk or on 07789 175213.
