CAFE Solace Kilbirnie recently celebrated a year in the Garnock Valley community.

Cafe Solace is a place for those in recovery and those that support those in recovery, it enables people to gain skills and grow their confidence.

Steph McCutcheon, Recovery Development Officer with the North Ayrshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership, told the Herald: “We have served over 12,000 meals over the three cafes in three years. Cafe Solace Kilbirnie is a project supported by Project Kilbirnie and has went from strength to strength trying to become self sufficient by way of offering outside catering for small events.

“We were awarded a nice sum of money from Police Scotland and Paul Main kindly presented t-shirts and aprons purchased on the night. We also receive constant support from Patricia Gibson MP and Kenneth Gibson MSP as well as councillors Anthea Dickson and Donald L Reid. The work our brilliant volunteers carry out is priceless.”
