Police are appealing for assistance from the public in tracing 44 year old Gavin McPartlan who has been missing from Dalry since Monday.

Gavin, who lives in Peden Avenue, is described as white, 6ft in height, of slim build and has short brown hair. When last seen he was wearing a light blue tracksuit top with a white stripe across the middle, a light blue polo shirt and blue jeans.

Sergeant Claire Jack, Irvine Police Station, said: “Gavin requires to take medication and, as far as we are aware, he has not taken any with him

"He was seen a week last Monday and was in phone contact on Friday 17 August but nothing since then.

“Our concern is that due to health issues, he may have become unwell and not able to return home or get help. We have checked with local hospitals and have searched his home, spoken to family and friends but so far no one has seen or heard from him.

“Although he has a bus pass, he tends to stay local. His phone is no longer available when called.

“If you know where Gavin is, or can help officers in tracing him, then please call Irvine Police Station via 101 quoting reference number 2826/16/08/18.

“I would also ask Gavin to get in touch with police so that we know he is well.”
