PUPILS at a Three Towns Secondary School were evacuated today (Tuesday) after a fire broke out in a store next to the main building.
News of pupils and staff in the school car park after the evacuation broke earlier this afternoon and smoke was said to be coming from near the rear of the school.
A North Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: “A fire broke out in the bio-mass plant store, which is a separate building located beside Auchenharvie Academy.
"The school was evacuated immediately and at no point were pupils in any danger.
"The school will reopen as normal tomorrow (Wednesday, September 5)."
