TEN new apprentices have this week been unveiled by one of North Ayrshire’s biggest employers.

Over 250 applications were received in response to the Plumbing Apprenticeship advert posted by James Frew and after careful consideration, online tests and interviews, 10 new recruits have now joined the existing apprentices in the company.

The apprentices will now embark on the successful four-year tailor-made Modern Apprenticeship, which incorporates the Plumbing Vocational Qualification alongside other important industry qualifications.

The programme gives the opportunity of

achieving a national recognizable qualification by gaining on the job training and attending classes at the newly launched ‘James Frew Academy’ at West College Scotland Paisley Campus.

The new recruits will join the company’s existing 23 apprentices. They include Josh Burns, 19 and Darren Campbell, 34 from Paisley, Reece Colquhoin, 17 from Kilwinning, Callum Dawson, 18 from Ayr, Cameron Norwood, 17 from Saltcoats, Andrew Neil, 18 from Kilmarnock, Josh O’Neill, 18 from Greenock, Luke Priestly, 18 from Irvine, Callum Robertson, 18 from Glasgow and Paisley Moore, 16 from Dumfries.
