CUNNINGHAME Housing Association’s annual garden competition has been held for many years as a way of thanking tenants for taking pride in their gardens and their local area and it is becoming increasingly popular.

The judging for this year’s competition was held on August 15, and, as always, the judges were impressed by the high standard of entries despite the very dry weather.

Coming out on top in North Ayrshire were Mr and Mrs Duncan of Putyan Avenue in Dalry.

The garden competition is an opportunity to reward the skill and hard work of tenants and to reinforce their need for garden areas to be kept in good condition.

Well tended gardens improve residents’ environment and ensure that their communities continue to be popular and attractive places to live.

Presenting the winners certificate, CHA Chairperson Janet Strang said: “Again the quality of this year’s entries was excellent and it was a difficult choice for the selection panel to make.

“This competition is now a popular fixture in the Association’s calendar. Well done to the winners and thanks to all who entered.”
