A SECOND person has appeared in court charged with the murder of Ardrossan woman Annalise Johnstone.

28-year-old Angela Tina Newlands of Carse of Gowrie entered no plea at the short hearing at Perth Sheriff Court on Friday.

Annalise’s body was found at the side of the road of the B8062 between Auchterarder and Dunning back in May of this year.

24-year-old Jordan Johnstone, Annalise’s brother, previously appeared in court charged with the alleged murder of the Ardrossan woman.

Newlands was committed for further examination and remanded in custody followinbg a bail hearing.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police Scotland can confirm that the 28-year-old woman arrested in connection with the alleged murder of 22-year-old Annalise Johnstone has now been charged.

“A 24-year-old man was charged in connection with the alleged murder in May 2018.

“Annalise Johnstone’s body was found in a wooded area at the roadside of the B8062 between Auchterarder and Dunning on Thursday 10 May.”
