LOCALS are being invited to view proposals for new council properties planned for Saltcoats.
North Ayrshire Council has opened consultation on its newest planned developments which include new homes on the site of Springvale Horticultural Nursery, following its relocation to another site within North Ayrshire.
The development forms part of the council’s vision to deliver more than 1,000 new properties by 2023 – one of the most ambitious council house building programmes in the UK.
North Ayrshire Council Housing Services will host a special consultation event, at a venue to be confirmed
later, on Tuesday, September 25, between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
The event will allow people to obtain information about the project, give their views on the plans and discuss proposed building works.
Those unable to attend the consultation event will be able to view the proposals online at www.northayrshire.community/consultations/open-consultations from September 26, and will also be able to add their comments.
Plans for 70 new homes at St Michael’s Wynd in
Kilwinning will also be unveiled to the public at an event in St Luke’s Primary School on Thursday, September 27, between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
Cabinet member for Place, Councillor Jim Montgomerie, said: “We’re well on track to build more than 1,000 new council houses by 2023.
“Having already completed a number of developments and with others currently underway, we are not standing still – we are determined to deliver modern, energy-efficient homes that meet the needs of our residents.
“We are changing people’s lives for the better and
transforming communities
in every part of North Ayrshire.”
