THE Children’s Cooking Class held every week in the Church of the Nazerene is going from strength to strength.
Organised by Craig Crosthwaite from the Foodbank and Darren Fisher from Garfield’s Tapas and Wine Bar, the class aims to bring fun into cooking and teach kids skills. The class takes place every Tuesday from 4.15-6pm and is free of charge thanks to help from the council and local business and people including Pat Breen, Stacey McMillan, Marion Small and Peter Kean.
Chef Darren said: “This is a fun class but the skills will be vital for the kids as cooking is a life skill. The plan is to create a cook school locally to allow kids to learn and hopefully take on a job in the industry.”
