A ZOMBIE movie filmed in Stevenston arrives in UK cinemas this weekend.
Parts of REDCON-1, a horror set in a postapocalyptic Britain, were shot in Ardeer’s Nobel Business Park.
The film tells the story of a team of soldiers during a zombie apocalypse in the UK and stars Katarina Waters and Mark Strange.
Director Chee Keong Cheung said: “The zombie community in Scotland have been incredible. REDCON-1 is an independent film and we were incredibly fortunate to have the chance to work with such a passionate group of zombies who generously gave their time.
“We had over 1500 people take part as zombies in the film. For many this was their first on camera experience. Many friendships have also developed as a result of the film including a few relationships amongst some of our zombies in the film.
“It was such a diverse mix from doctors, accountants, builders, teachers and even a forensic detective taking part as a zombie. Given the amount of support we received, I was keen to have the chance to showcase the film on the big screen launch a special tour - this is our way for us to reconnect with our zombies and also thank all those involved.
“The Scottish community and support was essential in helping to make REDCON-1 possible.”
REDCON-1 is showing at Glasgow Grosvenor on Monday, October 1 at 7pm.
The screening will also include a Q&A with the director Chee Keong Cheung, Hollywood actor/producer Carlos Gallardo, and actor/ producer Mark Strange.
