Pupils at Garnock Community Campus were disappointed when their sponsored walk had to be axed halfway through because of the weather.

The event on Friday, September 21 was to raise money for the school funds and saw pupils from S1-S3 take part.

But after just a few laps, the kids had to be brought back inside because of the heavy rain.

Freelance photographer John Keachie was there to capture the action.

Gareth Morris, teacher at Garnock Campus, said: “We cancelled the walk because of the weather. They only did a few laps but they got soaked.

“We’re going to reschedule it probably before the October holidays.

“We don’t know what we’ve raised yet because the money’s not getting handed in until Monday. Last year we raised just over £5,000.

“Hopefully we get it rescheduled. I think they were a wee bit disappointed that we had to bring them back in but a lot of them didn’t have jackets, even though we told them to bring jackets. We couldn’t have kids sitting all day with wet clothes.”
