A DALRY beauty queen hopeful has raised £180 for ACCORD Hospice by walking through fire.
Lauren Houston, an aeronautical engineering student, took part in the daring feat on Saturday, September 29.
As the Herald reported last week, 16-year-old Lauren is representing Ayrshire in the Miss Teen Galaxy UK 2019 next March. The former Ardrossan Academy pupil wants to use her title to help her support various charities.
Following her fire walk at the weekend, Lauren said: “I am overwhelmed with the support that I have received.
“Thank you so much to everyone who has made a donation to ACCORD Hospice and to all of my family and friends who turned out to support me at the event. I really do appreciate every single one of you.
“I hope I can use my Miss Teen Galaxy title to continue to help raise funds for charity and inspire others to do the same. Together we can help to make a difference.”
Lauren’s mum Angela added: “The fire walk was a great success. We are so proud of her.”
