A 44-year-old man has admitted to being in possession of a knife in a public place in Saltcoats.
Gary McKinnon had an article which had a blade or was sharply pointed, namely a knife, at Springvale Street and Vernon Street on June 18 of this year.
McKinnon, of Green Street in Saltcoats, pled guilty to one charge at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week. His plea of not guilty to a second charge was accepted by the prosecutor.
Sentence was deferred for reports until November 9. McKinnon was bailed and will return to court on that date.
