A local councillor has welcomed the opening of several new businesses in Saltcoats following support from the council.

Hamilton Street has recently seen the opening of a hairdressers, beautician, make-up artist and nail technician within What Girls Want and Rios Piri Piri, creating new jobs in the local area. And existing firms Pets Global, Clyde Kilts and Douglas Cattanach Photography have relocated to larger premises in Hamilton Street. Supported by North Ayrshire Council, the businesses have received help and advice with digital engagement, branding, recruitment and training support.

Councillor Alex Gallagher, Cabinet Member for Economy, said: “I am delighted to see new businesses starting-up and existing businesses expanding in the local area. It is evident that the bespoke support offered by Team North Ayrshire are making a real difference which is helping our business to grow. The variety of companies now in Hamilton Street brings a welcome boost to the local economy in Saltcoats and encourages residents to support their local town and shop local.”
