Greenhills S.W.I. held their Annual Guest Night on Wednesday, October 17 in Barrmill Community Hall. President Mrs Lizann Munro welcomed everyone to the meeting.

Invited guests included members from eight neighbouring Institutes.

After a tea of traditional Hallowe'en fare, the company was entertained  by "The Razor Sharps" (formerly "The Barber Shop Boys") from Dunlop, led by Alan Garrity and conducted by his wife Elizabeth.

The very musical evening included harmonious melodies, community singing, and clarsach and guitar solos.

Competition results: points towards the Reid Trophy - Hallowe'en Mask 1st Lizann Munro; points towards the Salver - Handmade Poppy, any craft 1st Anne Hogg, 2nd Anne Hogg, 3rd Jean Gilbert.

The competitions were expertly judged by Nancy Johnstone and Anne Speir, Dalry & District S.W.I.

The sale of Christmas Cards for the Ayrshire Hospice, kindly brought by our usual two friends from Dunlop, raised £180.

At the end of the evening a comprehensive Vote of Thanks was given by Mrs Carol Stoddart.

The next meeting on Wednesday, November 21 will consist of a talk given by Mr Robert Spencer on "The Wee Dalry Dairy".
