A BEITH lady this week marked a magical milestone as she celebrated her 100th birthday.

Sarah McNally, known as Sadie, has lived all her life in Beith and still enjoys a daily beauty regime at Spiers Care Home where she now resides.

Sadie was married to John, known as Jake, for 56 years until his passing and the couple has two children, both have also sadly passed away. She has one grandchild.

Sadie worked in Balfours doing French Polisher work which she enjoyed and Sadie moved into Spiers approximately three years ago and she is a very sociable lady who enjoys others company.

When asked about the secret to long life she said keeping busy, having things to do every day. She makes sure her hair is brushed and always tidy, visits the in-house hairdresser regularly and gets a hair tint, she does her own beauty routine everyday eyebrows and lipstick and takes a walk into the lounge to chat with others bringing her tea cup and plate to be put on trolley to be washed.

When meeting with staff in the corridor she would say she is exercising her legs and that it’s a good thing to do.

She had a party in the care home and thanks everyone for their kind presents, flowers and cards and also thanks Provost Ian Clarkson for heading along on the day.
