GOOD-natured Saltcoats police officers got into the Christmas spirit as they took part in a dance-off with two cartoon dogs.

Community police officers attending the Saltcoats Christmas Light switch-on event on Sunday were challenged to take part in a ‘dance-off’ with Chase and Marshall from hit tv show Paw Patrol who were there as part of the entertainment.

And the PCs didn’t disappoint as they busted some moves to cult classic song ‘Bits & Pieces’ much to the amusement of the massive crowds.

Chief Inspector Colin Convery, Area Commander for North Ayrshire, said: “Local officers were policing a Christmas event in Saltcoats Town Centre over the weekend when the host invited them to take part in a dance-off.

“Their participation in the festivities was extremely well received by the crowd and was an excellent opportunity for the officers to positively engage with the community.”
