A family are making sure no one is alone this Christmas Day by offering free festive lunches to the elderly for a second year running.
Townhead Café in Stevenston, which is owned by Robert Hendry from Irvine, will once again open its doors on December 25 to those who might otherwise face Christmas Day alone.
And the family can also provide transport on the day if required.
The kind gesture was the idea of Robert’s teenage son Jack.
Jack, 17, told the Herald: “We did it last year and it went really well so we decided to do it again this year.
“Elderly people and anybody that’s on their own will get a four-course dinner and some gifts as well. We will pick them up from their home.
“I don’t want anybody to be alone on Christmas Day.”
The café on Townhead Street is holding the Christmas lunch at 2pm. Anyone who is interested should phone the café on 01294 287780 to reserve their place.
