THE new Saltcoats boat planter has been given a new name – with thanks to the readers of the Herald.
Saltcoats Community Council’s project has found its new home in the Caledonia Triangle near to Caledonia Primary and it will be known as the Betsy Miller after the famed local sea captain.
Members agreed unanimously to the name, which was the most popular. Others included the Cali Shores, High and Dry, The Caledonia Argyle and Alan Fitzpatrick was first in to suggest ‘Planter McPlantface’.
Kyle Haddow, chair of the Community Council, said: “We would like to say thank you to the community and the readers for their suggestion.”
