PUPILS at James Reid planted a tree donated by Patricia Gibson within their school grounds.
The children, who had prepared the ground for the sapling, were joined by the MP for North Ayrshire and Arran for the planting.
Pauline McIntosh, depute head at James Reid, said: “We got our senior pupils involved because they do a lot of work with sustainability.
“It did link nicely into their outdoor learning. They loved it. All the kids love being outside.
“They seem to relax when they’re learning outdoors and away from the classroom environment.”
