A NURSE from Beith has been awarded the title of Queen’s Nurse at a ceremony in Edinburgh on Thursday, November 29.
Joanne Anderson – who has recently been appointed NHS Ayrshire and Arran’s senior nurse for primary care – is one of 21 nurses from across Scotland to earn the award.
Managers at NHS Ayrshire and Arran nominated Joanne for providing high quality, compassionate care to people in their communities.
Joanne had been practicing nursing for 21 years and was, until recently, the general practice nurse at Beith Medical Centre in North Ayrshire.
She said: “Becoming a Queen’s Nurse adds a level of excitement to the vision of truly making a difference to the communities of Ayrshire. I have shared this journey with inspiring peers who I believe are now lifelong friends.”
