A SALTCOATS group were boosted to the tune of £150,000 thanks to the Big Lottery.
The North Ayrshire Forum on Disability will use the National Award from the Big Lottery Fund for their Access Ability Plus Initiative.This will continue and further develop the project in which older people with disabilities aged over 60 will be supported to maintain their independence, reducing isolation and loneliness, increase their social connections through a range of activities and support networks. They will have access to participant led interest groups, social activities and practical support and advice. This will include support for the North Ayrshire Forum on Disability, Reminiscence work, one to one support, groupwork and monthly outings.
Big Lottery Fund Scotland Chair, Maureen McGinn, said: “I am delighted that the North Ayrshire Forum on Disability has been successful in securing a Big Lottery Fund grant. The funding will make a big difference where it is needed most and I wish the North Ayrshire Forum on Disability/Access Ability Project every success as it goes on to develop and expand its project for the benefit of their local community.”
